308 recalls were published by the federal states and the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) on the joint portal „www.lebensmittelwarnung.de“ in the year 2023. In nearly one-third of the cases, microbiological contamination was the reason for the warning. Among these, with 35 reports, Salmonella was once again the most common cause. These bacteria can cause severe gastrointestinal illnesses.
In the year 2024, 64 reports have been received so far.
