CVUA Freiburg: Monitoring of pesticide residues in milk and infant formula
The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office Freiburg examined 78 samples of milk-based infant formula and 54 milk samples from across Europe for pesticide residues in 2020.
The samples were mainly tested for pesticides with high toxicity. These include pesticides such as Chlorpyrifos, Cyhalothrin, Cypermethrin, Fluquinconazole, and Ethoprophos. For these pesticides, the standard maximum residue level of 0.01 mg/kg for infants under 16 weeks is considered unsafe.
In all milk and infant formula samples, the determined pesticide concentrations were below the detection limits of the respective method.
In our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct pesticide testing. We provide you with fast and reliable results.
