DataSheetsGDChforCosmetics

The Working Group on Cosmetic Products of the GDCh (German Chemical Society) regularly publishes data sheets for the evaluation of the efficacy of active ingredients in cosmetic products.

In addition to general guidelines on the use of the data sheets, information on allantoin, urea, honey, hydroxy acids, chamomile, panthenol, pH value, propolis, proteins, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, and niacinamide (vitamin B3) has been published so far.

The data sheets provide assistance in interpreting any claims related to cosmetics (e.g., required minimum concentrations, literature references, etc.) and are continuously updated. Thus, they are also an important tool for interpretation within the framework of Claims Regulation (EC) No 655/2013, which regulates claims for cosmetic products under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.

Dr. Bernhard Fellenberg from BAV Institut has been a member of this working group for many years and actively contributes to the creation and updating of the data sheets.
