Claim "from our own slaughtering"

The federal state's working group for consumer protection on meat and poultry meat hygiene and specific questions about food of animal origin (AFFL) is of the view that meat and products derived from it can only be labeled as "from own slaughter" if they come from slaughters conducted under the responsibility of the food business operator who markets the meat or meat products. Otherwise, the labeling "from own slaughter" constitutes misleading information about food within the meaning of Article 7, paragraph 1 a) of the FIC Regulation.
