Detection of Pesticides in Olive Oils - Product Recall
Recently, several food products (olive oils) were recalled due to exceeding limits of pesticides.
The legal limits (maximum residue levels) for pesticides in food are regulated EU-wide under Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. Food containing prohibited pesticides or pesticides above the limits are not marketable in the EU.
In this case, the pesticide Chlorpyrifos was detected. Chlorpyrifos is no longer approved as a plant protection product.
At our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct tests for pesticide residues. We provide you with fast and reliable results.
For questions, our customer advisors are very happy to assist you.
