DGK: Information on the Microbiology and Hygiene of Cosmetics
On the website of the DGK (Working Group 2 - Microbiology and Operational Hygiene) you will always find up-to-date and informative publications on the topic of microbiology and hygiene in cosmetics. All documents are available free of charge. In the last two years, statements have been developed on the following topics, among others:
- Preservative load test in W/O formulations
- Risks from Pluralibacter gergoviae
- Health risks from microorganisms in cosmetics
- Microbiological risks from the use of bar soaps
The "Operational Hygiene in Cosmetics" manual is also available in its 2nd updated edition.
This working group, with representatives from authorities, industry, and testing institutes, is currently led by Ms. Joelle Nussbaum from the BAV Institute.
