New DIN Standard for Communal Catering Released

Published in July 2018, the standard DIN 10506 "Food Hygiene - Community Catering" has been newly released, which specifies the requirements for the planning and construction as well as the operation of community catering facilities, such as cafeterias, canteens, cafeterias, and kitchens and food dispensing areas in social institutions,
schools, daycare centers, barracks, etc., as well as possibly inns and restaurants. 

It clarifies the requirements of the EU hygiene regulations and national food hygiene regulations. The standard provides guidance on the hygienic handling of food and restrictions on the production and delivery of food to certain groups of people in community catering.
