Listeriosis or diseases caused by Listeria monocytogenes in Switzerland

According to the report on the surveillance of zoonoses and foodborne disease outbreaks in 2017 in Switzerland, there were 45 reported cases of listeriosis in Switzerland in 2017.

Among them, there was one case in a pregnant woman and four in newborns. Due to the potential for severe progression with complications and a relatively high mortality rate, listeriosis is particularly feared as a foodborne infection.
