EHEC infections in children - In BAV Newsletter 01/2011

The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) provides information in a current consumer leaflet about the danger of EHEC infections in children. Enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) are E. coli bacteria that produce cell toxins and can cause serious illnesses in humans. Infants, young children, and immunocompromised individuals are particularly at risk.
