EU monitoring program on pesticides published
Each year, the EU Commission publishes a monitoring plan for the testing of pesticides in food of plant and animal origin. The monitoring for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021 has now been updated and published in the implementing regulation (EU) 2018/555.
According to the regulation, 10 foods of plant origin and 2 foods of animal origin are to be tested each year. For 2019, these are apples, strawberries, peaches including nectarines, wine, lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, spinach, oat grains, and barley grains as plant-based foods, as well as cow's milk and pork fat as animal-based foods. The parameters Fipronil and Glyphosate have been newly included for the animal-based foods.
In our Tentamus laboratories, we routinely conduct tests for pesticides, Glyphosate, and Fipronil. We provide fast and reliable results.
