Exemption for the treatment of shell eggs with UV-C radiation

In the Joint Ministerial Gazette (GMBl.), an exception permit was granted for the treatment of shell eggs by direct exposure to ultraviolet rays (UV-C) and the marketing of correspondingly treated eggs. The exception permit was granted under the conditions that only clean eggs are treated with UV-C rays, the procedure of the treatment with UV-C rays is documented, and the effectiveness of the treatment with UV-C rays is demonstrated.
