Eyeliner tested by Öko-Test
In the July issue of the magazine Öko-Test, a total of 18 eyeliners were examined in detail and sent to laboratories. Currently under discussion are controversial preservatives, halogen-organic compounds, and PEG compounds.
Half of the products received the rating "very good". However, 7 of the 18 eyeliners contained problematic substances.
Leading to a downgrade were, among other things:
- controversial preservatives,
- PEG and PEG derivatives
- formaldehyde/releasers
- halogen-organic compounds
Regularly check your products for contaminants to ensure compliance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. Checking stored or aged products, for example in the context of stability tests, is also advisable.
