According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), a total of 3,999 EHEC cases have been reported since May 1, 2011, based on the Infection Protection Act, including 845 cases with HUS (hemolytic-uremic syndrome) and 48 deceased patients. (Status: July 1, 2011)
