FAQ catalog of the BfR on African Swine Fever
Due to the current concerns about the potential outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF), which is rampant in Eastern Europe, in the local pig population, the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) provided information on the risks and dangers of infection with a question-and-answer catalog on January 17, 2018. The BfR emphasizes that there is no health risk to humans and no health risk from consuming food derived from potentially infected animals. The questions and answers about ASF directed at the consumer public can be accessed on the BfR website at www.bfr.bund.de.
