Fipronil in eggs and poultry meat

Due to the "Fipronil scandal" from 2017, investigation programs on Fipronil and 67 other substances (acaricides and biocides) were conducted in the EU member states. In May 2018, the BVL published the German data of the EU Ad hoc Program.

The key facts at a glance:

• no Fipronil was detected in 92% of the samples tested
• no Fipronil content was above the acute reference dose (ARfD)
• legal maximum levels were exceeded in some cases
