Foodwarning.de: Now also with shoes and toothpaste

On behalf of the federal states, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) has expanded the portal www.lebensmittelwarnung.de. As of February 19, 2019, consumers can also find information there about harmful cosmetic products, such as skin creams, hair dyes, tattoo colors, and consumer goods, such as shoes and dishes.

Warnings and recalls from companies and relevant authorities of the federal states are published on www.lebensmittelwarnung.de. Until February 19, 2019, only food that is harmful to health or disgusting or that could deceive consumers was published on the platform.

With this expansion, the design was also revised and optimized for mobile devices.

There is now the option to choose between the three categories of consumer goods, cosmetic products, and food.

The portal was launched on October 21, 2011, to publish public warnings and information in accordance with § 40 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Food, Consumer Goods and Feed Code (LFGB). You can read more information in our News.
