Food Information Regulation (FIR) - In BAV Newsletter 03/2012
The Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers entered into force on 12 December 2011. This will standardize food labeling across Europe in the future. The FIC will be mandatory from 13 December 2014. The transition period for nutritional labeling lasts until 13 December 2016. This article aims to provide an initial overview of the key changes.
