Fruit, Vegetables, Potatoes – Two Guides for Wholesale and Logistics in the Future

To increase transparency and clarity for QS system partners in the wholesale and logistics sectors, the previous guideline for wholesale/logistics of fruits, vegetables, and potatoes, which consisted of two parts, will be separated as of January 1, 2018.

It will be replaced by two independent guidelines - one for wholesalers (including their own logistics) and one guideline for pure logistics companies.

The introduction of the two guidelines does not result in additional certification effort for companies. Wholesale companies that carry out transport activities with their own fleet are still covered by the wholesale certification. Therefore, certification according to the logistics guideline is not required for them.

Logistics companies that exclusively transport and/or store fresh, processed, and processed fruits, vegetables, and potatoes, but are not the owners of the goods, can be certified according to the logistics guideline. This will include, in addition to requirements for transport activities and short-term storage for the purpose of transshipment, criteria for long-term storage.

During the commentary phase, there is the opportunity to review and comment on the wholesale and logistics guidelines in advance until November 16, 2017.

Our customer service representatives are happy to answer any questions you may have.
