Genetically modified organisms (GMO) in food – Results of CVUA Baden-Württemberg
In 2021, nearly 600 food samples were tested for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) by the State Laboratories for Food Safety and Animal Health (CVUA) of Baden-Württemberg. GMOs were detected in 28% of these samples.
Unauthorized genetic modifications were found in rice-based noodles and green papaya.
Authorized genetic modifications were mostly detected in very low traces below 0.1%. Soy protein concentrate and tofu were mainly affected.
Exceedances of the 0.9% labeling threshold for authorized GM plants could not be established in any case.
In our Tentamus Laboratories, we regularly conduct tests for genetic modifications. We provide you with fast and reliable results.
Our customer advisors are very happy to answer any questions you may have.
