As recently discovered by English scientists, almost all decorative cosmetics in use contain potentially dangerous bacteria and molds.

Out of a total of nearly 500 products examined, 90% were contaminated. Among them, scientists found microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Citrobacter freundii, and Escherichia coli.

Makeup sponges proved to be particularly contaminated, both in terms of the number of germs and mold contamination. Considering the fact that these sponges are often never fully dried and cleaned, it is not surprising.

When marketing, be sure to carefully check the shelf life information (minimum shelf life, PAO) and consider the stability of the product.

The BAV Institute supports you with stability tests as well as tests for microbiological quality according to DIN EN ISO 11930. We also conduct tests on opened-package stability or application tests.
