With the start of the barbecue season, the chemical and veterinary examination offices of Baden-Württemberg primarily examined marinated grilled meat, grill cheese, and grill sausages. The focus was, among other things, on allergen tests and on compliance with the guidelines for meat and meat products. Overall, the results obtained presented a positive picture.

A total of 61 samples of marinated grill products were tested for allergenic substances. Only two samples were noticeable due to missing labeling. Nevertheless, it should be noted that one of the samples proved to be harmful to health, as an allergen was detected in an amount that can lead to severe health problems in allergic individuals.

The examinations of grill sausages also revealed only a few deficiencies. The quality criteria and maximum fat contents stipulated in the guidelines for meat and meat products were met by all samples. The unauthorized addition of water and the declaration of phosphates was also predominantly passed.

In our Tentamus laboratories, we routinely conduct examinations in accordance with the guidelines for meat and meat products and allergens. We deliver fast and reliable results.
