Health-hazardous Salmonella detected in halva - Product recall
According to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), 90% of foodborne infections in recent years are attributed to Salmonella. As a cause of gastrointestinal diseases, Salmonella plays a significant role worldwide. Common carriers of Salmonella are especially poultry meat, eggs, and pork.
Salmonella was detected in a Halva product currently on sale. Therefore, the manufacturer is recalling the product. Consumers who have purchased the product are strongly advised against its consumption.
