If cosmetics are not tolerated – a new guide by the BVL
Redness, pimples, pustules, blisters, or swelling on the skin after using a cosmetic product - what should be done in this case? Who can I contact and what information is essential for quick treatment?
All these questions are answered in the new brochure "When Cosmetics Are Not Tolerated - Tips on Dealing with Serious Undesirable Side Effects", published by the BVL (Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety). Using a checklist, consumers can gather all relevant information and provide this data to their doctor or pharmacist.
This checklist also offers the opportunity to fulfill the obligation to report serious undesirable side effects of a product. According to Regulation EC (No.) 123/2009, the respective responsible person or retailer is obliged to do so.
