IFS HPC is gaining importance
The IFS HPC (Household and Personal Care Products) is a private standard for manufacturers of household and personal care products. The standard aims particularly at ensuring product safety.
To achieve this, the standard sets requirements for the product-related quality and risk management of the company. During the auditing process, it is checked whether and how the standard's demands are implemented in the company.
The scope of the standard relates to:
- Cosmetic and personal care products
- Chemical household products
- Household items with food and/or skin contact
- Personal hygiene products
The IFS HPC standard is officially only aimed at store brand manufacturers of retail chains. However, due to the general validity and applicability of the requirements, it is expected that a similarly strong distribution will occur in the cosmetics sector as it has already done in the food sector with IFS Food. This has established itself as one of the valid standards throughout the industry within a few years and has been introduced worldwide in over 11,000 companies.
