IFSCC 2018 Workshop Preservation

Prior to the 30th IFSCC Congress in Munich, several workshops on the topic of cosmetics took place, including one on the preservation of cosmetic products. Ms. Joelle Nussbaum from the BAV Institute gave a presentation on the possibilities of testing microbiological stability. This primarily involved methodological backgrounds of the preservation challenge test, usually conducted according to DIN EN ISO 11930, but also according to methods of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph.Eur.).

The workshop was organized by Working Group 2 of the DGK.

Microbiological analysis, testing for bacteria, yeasts, and molds, as well as the detection of the absence of specific microorganisms according to ISO 17516 are central components of the safety and microbiological quality management of cosmetic products.

Contact us, we will advise you on all questions and conduct all required tests for you according to the European EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009.
