In the current Eco-Test: Hair gel, hair wax and more.

Öko-Test examines 51 different hair styling products in June, of which 20 products were rated as “poor” or “inadequate.” Only 10 products received the highest rating.

Criticized are, among others: 

-       Preservatives like formaldehyde/donors, chlorphenesin, and propylparaben

-       Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)

-       Aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH)

-       Paraffins and silicones

The BAV Institute, part of the international Tentamus laboratory group, analyzes various other chemical parameters for you in addition to preservatives and mineral oil components.
