Investigation results on genetic engineering in food in Baden-Württemberg

In 2023, a total of 474 food samples were tested for genetic modifications by the chemical and veterinary investigation offices (CVUA) in Baden-Württemberg. Of these, 30 samples were positive, which corresponds to approximately 6.3%, similar to the level of previous years.

The positive samples predominantly contained trace findings below 0.1%, primarily found in soy products or rapeseed.

Unauthorized genetic modifications were only detected in one sample of rice-based noodles.

The detailed results can be viewed at the following link: www.ua-bw.de
