LabelingMeat - In BAV Newsletter 02/2015

Since April 1, 2015, the new origin labeling for meat has been in effect. For pre-packaged pork, goat, poultry, and lamb meat, indicating the place of rearing and slaughter is mandatory. EU member states can decide whether to extend the regulation to unpackaged goods. Ready-made products containing meat are not affected by the labeling so far. (Source: ec.europa.eu)
