Labeling of Sweeteners in Ingredients - ALS Resolution

In the 121st ALS meeting (Working Group of State and Federal Food Chemical Experts) a new resolution on the labeling of sweeteners in ingredients was issued.

According to the ALS resolution, under Annex III No. 2 of the Food Information Regulation (FIR), it is mandatory to indicate sweeteners when foods contain them.

Any content of sweeteners, including sweeteners contained in a compound ingredient, must therefore be indicated in conjunction with the designation on the final product.

In the list of ingredients, the labeling "with sweeteners" is not necessary as the specific sweetener must be specified for compound ingredients.

In the laboratories of the Tentamus Group, we regularly conduct analyses for sweeteners. We provide you with fast and reliable results and are happy to advise you on any issues regarding product safety. If you have any questions, our customer advisors are at your disposal.
