LipcarewithUVprotection – TestreportinthemagazineÖko-Test
Dry and chapped lips in winter - who doesn't know that? Usually, an extra portion of fat in the form of lip care products helps, preferably with UV protection. But do the products still contain mineral oils?
The magazine Öko-Test dedicated its current issue to this question and examined a total of 18 lip care sticks. The test parameters included, in addition to the presence of mineral oils (MOSH/MOAH), tests for PEG/PEG derivatives, concerning UV filters, paraffins, preservatives, allergenic fragrances, and other parameters.
Of the 18 products in total, 8 were rated as good or very good. In addition to one satisfactory and one sufficient result, 8 products were also rated as poor or inadequate.
For the 8 products rated as poor or inadequate, the detection of MOAH (aromatic mineral oil hydrocarbons) was usually decisive. In addition, six of these products also showed concerning UV filters.
At the BAV Institute and in our Tentamus partner laboratories, we regularly conduct the above-mentioned investigations. We provide you with fast and reliable results.
Our customer advisors are happy to assist you with any questions.
