LMIV: Deadline for Origin Labelling Obligation for "Primary Ingredients" Postponed - In BAV Newsletter 04/2014

The obligation to label the origin of primary ingredients (ingredients that make up more than 50% of the food or are significant for the product) when the country of origin of the product is indicated is being postponed. The obligation cannot come into force on 13.12.2014 because the necessary implementing acts have not yet been issued. Issuance and transition period cannot be expected before mid/end 2016. Therefore, there is no obligation for labeling until then.
