Magazine Öko-Test examines shower gels for men
The magazine Öko-Test examines shower gels in its current issue, designed specifically for men according to manufacturers. The segment of body care products for men is experiencing strong growth according to recent surveys.
Of the total 50 products, exactly half were rated as good or very good. 11 products received the rating satisfactory or adequate, and 14 were rated as poor or insufficient. Devaluations were made, among others, when the following substances or substance classes were detected:
- Fragrances Butylphenyl Methylpropional (trade name Lilial) and Hydroxycitronellal
- Formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers
- Aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH)
- PEG (Polyethylene glycol) and PEG derivatives
- Synthetic fragrances such as Cashmeran and other artificial musk components
- Preservatives Methylchloroisothiazolinone (CIT)
Have your products regularly tested for compliance with Öko-Test criteria and the requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation VO (EU) 1223/2009.
