MALDI-TOF identification now accredited – rapid microbiological testing at the BAV Institute

The BAV Institute has successfully completed the accreditation for MALDI-TOF identification of microorganisms. This provides customers with an additional quality-assured method in the field of microbiological testing.

The MALDI-TOF technology has been used at the BAV Institute for over 10 years and serves the rapid and precise identification of bacteria, yeasts, and molds. During this period, more than 1.5 million microorganisms have been analyzed.

The accreditation confirms that the procedure is conducted according to defined quality standards and that the results meet the requirements for verified and traceable examinations. This is particularly important in the context of regulatory requirements and audits.

The method enables identification down to the species level and accesses an extensive database with over 12,000 entries. In many cases, results can be provided within a few minutes.
