Many cosmetic products from the internet not marketable
As reported by Spiegel in its current issue, many of the cosmetics available in online retail have significant defects. In a sample of a total of 24 products sold through the Amazon Marketplace platform, a total of 93 individual violations of the EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 applicable to all products were identified. Only two of the 24 items could be assessed as fully marketable.
The most common complaints were due to:
- Contaminations with pathogenic germs
- Undeclared allergens contained
- Preservatives exceeding the legally permissible maximum amount
- Declared valuable ingredients that were not detectable in the product
BAV Institute checks the marketability of your products. From microbiology, ingredients, residues to declaration. We provide you with fast and reliable results.
