Microbiological Stability: Mandatory Proof for Cosmetic Products

Microbiological Stability: Mandatory Proof for Cosmetic Products

Proof of microbiological stability is mandatory for most cosmetic products and is required by the European Cosmetics Regulation EC No. 1223/2009. It is also an integral part of the safety report that must be prepared for each new product placed on the market.

Exceptions apply only to so-called microbiologically low-risk products, such as anhydrous or very strongly basic or acidic formulations.

For all other products, stability must be demonstrated by a preservation challenge test (PCT) - usually based on ISO 11930.

We offer you:

- fast and reliable testing
- methods according to ISO, Ph. Eur. as well as customer-specific methods
- “Live” access to all interim and final results in the online portal
- flexible expansion to include additional, customer-specific microorganisms

As your PCT experts, we support you with comprehensive testing and individual consulting.
