More consumer protection and product safety through blockchain technology

On 18.09.19, the Federal Cabinet decided to promote the so-called blockchain strategy for more transparency, efficiency, and security along value chains. The Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture is significantly involved in this.

The focus is primarily on investigations by the Thünen Institute on the use of blockchain technology along value chains. The technology is to be used and promoted for the security of ecologically and socially sustainable, efficient, and secure supply and goods chains.
