New Regulation on Labelling of "Not Ready to Eat" Foods

The classification for the labeling of 'not Ready to Eat' foods remains the decision of the food business operators. The product should meet consumer expectations and be clearly designed so that it does not lead to incorrect use by the end consumer.

Both the labeling and the presentation of the product must clearly show whether the food is ready to eat or not. By providing clear instructions for use or preparation with the request to reheat the product before consumption, erroneous use by the end consumer is to be prevented.

Product images or serving suggestions must not demonstrate a different intended use. They should emphasize whether it is a ready-to-eat or 'not Ready to Eat' product.

Therefore, BAV Institute regularly conducts labeling and declaration checks to ensure optimal product labeling. Our customer service representatives are happy to assist you with any questions regarding labeling and declarations on food products.
