New Regulation for Tattoo Inks
With the regulation Regulation (EU) 2021/2081 from December 2020 concerning the evaluation and restriction of chemical substances in tattoo inks and permanent make-up, new substance specifications for heavy metals, aromatic amines, dyes, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are being implemented.
This also amends an annex of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation).
Finally, manufacturers of such products must comply with the specifications mentioned in the regulation text by January 4th, 2022, at the latest.
