New study on sustainability in food and cosmetics purchasing
In a new study by KPMG, it was examined to what extent consumers pay attention to sustainability when shopping for consumer goods.
These are the key findings:
- 18 percent of consumers state that they pay attention to sustainability when grocery shopping
- 69 percent of respondents are willing to pay more for the sustainability of a product
- 55 percent are unsure which product is the most sustainable option
- 4 out of 5 consumers paid more attention to sustainability when shopping last year compared to the year before
It is interesting to observe that the topic of sustainability is most often associated with "low-pollutant food and cosmetics". Products without residues and compliance with legal regulations are therefore extremely important.
For you as a manufacturer or retailer of food or cosmetics, the BAV Institute, as part of the international Tentamus laboratory group, offers all necessary tests to comply with legal requirements.
