NewALS/ALTSAssessmentValuesforAllergens
Currently, new ALS/ALTS assessment values for allergens have been published on the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) website.
These values are based on recommendations from the FAO/WHO expert group on threshold values for voluntary allergen labeling.
The official food monitoring will predominantly orient itself by these values when assessing official samples.
Therefore, we will also apply these recommendations for the evaluation of your results in the future.
However, it should be noted that these values are not applicable to foods labeled with the indication "free from..." etc., if the advertised allergen can be detected.
We therefore ask you to provide a clear indication in the order if this issue is relevant to you.
For all allergens except crustaceans (shrimp), the assessment values are more generous than before.
For mustard, soy, lupine, and celery, further adjustments are expected in the coming months.
We are applying the new assessment values immediately.
Here you will find the table with all changes.
In the laboratories of the Tentamus Group, we regularly conduct tests for allergens. We provide you with fast and reliable results and are happy to advise you on all issues related to product safety. If you have any questions, our customer advisors are at your disposal.
