New Animal Welfare Label - In BAV Newsletter 01/2013

The German Animal Welfare Federation has developed a seal for animal-friendly produced meat, egg, and dairy products. The slaughterhouse Vion and the supermarket chain Kaisers were also involved. The animal welfare label specifies, among other things, how many grams the animals may gain per day at most. Compliance with the conditions is checked by a certification company commissioned by the Animal Welfare Federation. Edeka has also announced its intention to use the label.
