New cases of fipronil in eggs

New cases of fipronil in eggs

Currently, three new cases of eggs contaminated with Fipronil from the Netherlands are known. As early as the end of May, Fipronil was detected in free-range eggs from a Dutch poultry farm. High levels of Fipronil were found in the soil of this farm's free-range area.

In the other two cases, these are also eggs and organic eggs from free-range farming. Here, too, high levels of Fipronil are suspected in the soil of the free-range area.

The affected products have been removed from the market. The Fipronil levels found in the eggs are not harmful to health but exceed the maximum residue level of 0.05 mg/kg for Fipronil in eggs.

We will keep you informed of further developments.
