New Draft Law on the Disclosure of Transparent Control Results (POTKG) / "Pootkieker"

On June 18, 2019, the state government of Schleswig-Holstein presented the parliament with the draft bill on the law concerning the obligation to disclose transparent control results (POTKG).

The necessity of creating the so-called "Pottkieker" law is referenced due to the increased demand for transparent handling of the results of food law inspections (keyword "Topf Secret") and the unsuccessful calls by the consumer protection ministers' conference since 2011 to establish a nationwide system.

The aim of the law is to create more transparency for consumers in connection with official food law inspections by requiring the disclosure of corresponding control results.
