New regulations for optimizing food monitoring
With the new General Administrative Regulation Framework Monitoring (AVV RÜb), the future legal framework for more effective and uniform food monitoring in Germany is being established.
The main points of the new regulation are:
- Uniform control density overall, with a stronger focus on sensitive points during inspections.
- Increase of inspections based on specific reasons in food companies that pose a higher risk.
- Maintaining an appropriate number of inspections in food companies without any complaints.
- A food company can and should still be inspected daily if the competent authority deems it necessary.
The new regulation still requires the approval of the Bundesrat.
