In recent weeks, microbiologically noticeable cosmetic products have once again been reported in the EU's rapid alert system (RAPEX). In addition to a children's product, hair color products were also affected.

In all products, the maximum allowed content of the aerobic mesophilic total bacterial count was significantly exceeded. The products do not comply with DIN EN ISO 17516 and are to be classified as unsafe products within the meaning of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (Cosmetics Regulation).

Product recalls up to product destruction are usually the consequences.

Ensure the microbiological quality of your products and have both the end products and the raw materials used, as well as the bulk, regularly tested microbiologically.

We examine the microbiological quality for you according to accredited methods and are always available to provide advice.
