BfR recommendations for protection against Yersinia
Yersinia are rod-shaped bacteria that can lead to gastrointestinal infections. In 2011, around 3,400 infections with Yersinia were reported in Germany. The bacteria can still multiply at cooling temperatures down to 4 °C. The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) has published consumer information to protect against these germs.
