Reports Cosmetics Rapid Alert System Safety Gate - November 2025
In November 2025, a total of 115 cosmetic products were reported as unsafe, based on Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. The consequences of this report usually include a public recall or withdrawal from the market.
The classification as unsafe was made based on the following criteria:
- Prohibited fragrance Butylphenyl Methylpropional (BMHCA) and Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxyaldehyde (HICC)
- Methylchloroisothiazolinone/Methylisothiazolinone
- Contents of 2-Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate (HEMA), Hydroquinone Methylether (Mequinol) in consumer products
- Prohibited preservatives Methylchloroisothiazolinone/Methylisothiazolinone in leave-on products
- Detection of the prohibited photoinitiator TPO (Diphenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphine Oxide)
- SPF levels too low compared to the claim (SPF 4 instead of SPF 50+!)
- Detection of the prohibited D4 (Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane)
