Number of complaints regarding food and cosmetics at consistently high level

Complaints by the official food control authorities in Baden-Württemberg have been at a relatively high level for years. This trend continued in 2016. We have summarized some numbers from the report for you.

• In 27% of the inspected businesses, violations were found. Most of these were due to hygiene deficiencies (69%). 848 businesses were even immediately closed due to unhygienic conditions.
• In food samples, 8,052 samples (17.9%) in Baden-Württemberg were objected to. For cosmetic products, 237 samples (12.2%) were objected to
