Nutri-Score should become European
At the end of January, a joint meeting was held in Bern at the European level with the aim of exchanging experiences and possibilities for a joint European Nutri-Score and discussing further steps.
An international registration portal of the current trademark owner (the French health authority Santé Publique France) is to be created in all official languages of the participating states, and a European secretariat for the Nutri-Score, which works on behalf of the trademark owner, is to be established.
Additionally, an internationally coordinated hotline for general inquiries is to be set up so that these can be uniformly answered as assistance for the industry.
Furthermore, to resolve contradictions with general nutritional recommendations, the calculation basis of the Nutri-Score, at the request of the Lebensmittelverband Deutschland, is to be discussed by independent scientists within the framework of an international scientific committee.
We will keep you updated on further developments.
Our customer service representatives are happy to assist you with any questions.
