Online retailers must inform about mandatory information according to the LMIV before ordering

At the Berlin Court of Appeal, the judges agreed with the consumer advocates' view that important food information, which is essential for purchase decisions, must be available in online shops before the ordering process.

It is not sufficient if the customer only has the opportunity to read the mandatory food information on the packaging upon delivery.

The judgment of the Berlin Court of Appeal dated January 23, 2018, can be accessed on the website of the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (www.vzbv.de -> Press -> Press Releases).
